Silk Paper Making with Machine Stitch
This inspiring workshop introduces you to Silk paper making. You will create silk papers by fusing silk cocoon fibres with Tussah silk and Mulberry silk filaments with other natural and man-made materials. Other materials include skeleton leaves, dried petals, fragments of paper, metallic fibres, feathers, lace and open weave fabrics such as scrim and cotton muslin.
With the support of a stabilising fabric on the underside of the silk paper to provide extra strength and durability you will use *‘free machine embroidery’ to develop your delicate silk papers.
